As I said last week, I headed to Harrisonburg over the weekend to help with a photo shoot. Here are a few shots from the fruits of my labor. (Photography by Mike Miriello, clothes borrowed from Duo).

What do you think? Stay tuned for more on this topic in the coming weeks!

New perfume! Got this at Anthropologie last night for $8. I got the Jasmine scent, but I also liked “Vine.” It’s actually fragrance oil, so—and this may not be scientifically true, but I feel like it’s right—it lasts longer. I kept smelling myself all evening thinking, “What is that lovely scent?” And you know what? It was me.

Hi all! I’m headed to Harrisonburg this weekend for a jewelry-related photo shoot and figured I might as well share some images I’ve been perusing for inspiration. So many pretties!

New shoes! Except, mine are navy blue patent leather (not black) and I got mine at TJ Maxx (not Macy’s) for $22 (not $99). You know how I love a good wedge.
I’ve worn them twice already and can’t wait for this dreadful rain to go away so I can wear them again.
What about you? Bought anything new recently? Do tell!

Chiffon? Drop hem? What’s not to love?

Good news, all! I’m back into blazers!
Do you ever find something in your closet that you used to love, but then got tired of, and then forgot about? And now that you’ve found it again, you wear it and rediscover why you loved it?
That’s totally me and my khaki blazer right now. We’re having a moment.
And so, I wanted to do a little blazer round-up on the off-chance that you’re having a blazer moment right now too. The trick to a good blazer is to find one that nips in slightly (not severely! I hate the way that looks!) at the waist. Vertical seams are always welcome, too.
What about you? Are you having a blazer moment? Did you recently rediscover something in your closet that you had fallen out of love with?

to let you k now I’m super sorry for giving up on S&W last week.
I fear my lack of posts may not be an unusual occurrence for the next few months (spring/summer is my busy season at work!), but I promise to try really, really hard to gather my motivation and squeak something out. I miss you.
I need a vacation. Preferably to right here. I would sip mimosas and remember my grandmother and listen to birds chirp. Oh, it would be heavenly.
…Back to work.

Want.
Also, I’m having a bit of a love affair with this color right now. And glitter.

Today is the birthday of my very dear friend, Carolyn. You may recognize her name from
this post, in which I picked on her for liking Vera Bradley (and bringing a VB duffel to the gym), but I just want to say that, despite my penchant for poking fun at her, Carolyn is just about the best friend a girl could have—and I’m super lucky to have her.
Here’s why:
-She’s always in my corner (even when I’m, in all likelihood, completely wrong).
-She’ll listen to me complain about something for as long as I want.
-She makes me laugh about 18 times every time I talk to her.
-She hates everything I hate. (Never underestimate the importance of this in a friendship.)
-She’s crazy good at rationalizing any purchase. Case in point:
Carolyn: oh no
the kate spade makeup bag i have been eyeing is back in stock
and super on sale
10:21 AM still so expensive
but
i have to have it
me: well…
do it! (Editors’ note: I’m also super good at egging her on.)
10:23 AM Carolyn: $55 after sale price at 15% off coupon code
i mean don’t worry i’m totes buying it
-She describes things as “adorbs” and “gorgeous.”
-She’s super supportive, reassuring, and validating. She also never judges me (but never hesitates to judge other people with me, if I need her to).
Well, I could pretty much go on and on about her because she’s just the best. And I’m not sure what I’d do without her.
So, Miss Carolyn, above is a little birthday outfit I put together for you. If I lived in Chicago, I’d take you out for cocktails after a long day of shopping at all your favorite stores. Happy birthday, friend. XOXO.
